About precincts
The precinct module allows you to define specific geographic areas on a map that represent the regions your office services. Once a precinct is established, you can search for contacts or properties within that area and send targeted bulk messages. This tool is ideal for focused marketing campaigns and creating location-based reports on contacts and properties.
Edit a precinct
Once a precinct is created, it can be edited at any time.
- Go to Properties > Precincts
- Locate a precinct on the right of the map
- Click Edit
- You can make the following adjustments:
- Expand or contract the precinct's border
- Rename the precinct
- Change visibility
- Click Save
Delete a precinct
If a precinct is no longer required, it can be deleted.
- Go to Properties > Precincts
- Locate a precinct on the right of the map
- Click Delete
- In the pop-up window, click Delete to confirm
Note: The precinct cannot be restored. If it is required again, it must be manually recreated.
Adjust a property not appearing in a precinct
If a property doesn’t appear in a precinct, its map location might be incorrect.
- Go to: The property record
- Click the Other tab > Map
- Check the red pin location to see if it falls within a precinct
Tip: Property map locations are automatically set based on the address when added to the database.
