Learn how to check in attendees at open homes and private inspections using the MRI Vault mobile Android app, and streamline attendee check-ins and feedback collection during inspections.

Set a default contact category for open home check-ins
Automatically assign a contact category to attendees when they are checked in at open homes or private inspections. This ensures newly created contacts are consistently categorised when they are added through check-ins.
To set a default contact category:
- Navigate to the Dashboard within the MRI Vault app
- Select Settings (top left-hand corner)

Tap Owner Feedback & Kiosk
- Under Default Contact Categories, select one of the following:
- Sale properties, or
-
Lease properties

Select the default category to apply to contacts checked in at open homes and inspections
- Click Save
Once set, all contacts checked in on that device will automatically be assigned the selected category.
Manually check in attendees
Use this method to directly enter attendee details during an inspection.
Before you begin:
If you want to send automatic SMS or email messages to attendees, make sure to set that up first (see Set up automatic messages below).
- Go to: The property card
- Tap Check In & Add Feedback > Check-In Attendees
- Enter the attendee’s details, add feedback, and any buyer information

Under Note Type, select the option that best matches the interaction (for example: Email Enquiry, Phone Enquiry, Open Home / Inspection Feedback, Open for inspection call back, Private Inspection, or Social Media)
- Tap Save to complete the check-in
To delete feedback:
- Tap the entry
- Select Delete Feedback
- Tap Delete feedback to confirm
Create a scheduled viewing
Schedule a private inspection in advance using the calendar widget.
- Go to: the Dashboard
- Tap the + icon above the calendar widget
- Tap the Scheduled Viewing tab
- Set the viewing details: time, property, contacts, and agents
- Tap Save to confirm the scheduled viewing
You can also create a scheduled viewing from within a property:
- From the Dashboard, tap the Properties tile
- Search and tap the address
- Tap Check In & Add Feedback
- Tap the Calendar icon
- Select the scheduled viewing > Tap the attendee
- Enter the attendee’s details, add feedback, and any buyer information
- Tap Save to complete the check-in
Add an open home
Add new open home times directly from the dashboard.
- Go to: the Dashboard
- Tap the + icon above the Open Home widget
- Select the property, set the time and duration, assign agents, and choose whether to add it to your phone calendar
- Tap Save to add the open home
To edit an existing open home, tap the pencil icon next to it in the widget.
Use kiosk mode for self-check-in
Let attendees check themselves in using your device in kiosk mode.
- From the Dashboard, tap the Properties tile
- Search and tap the address
- Tap Kiosk Mode
Your device will enter kiosk mode, allowing attendees to check in.
- Go to: Dashboard > Settings
- Tap Owner Feedback & Kiosk
- Toggle Pinned Kiosk Mode Screen to ON
To unpin exit kiosk mode, press and hold the Recents and Back buttons together.
Use QR Code for contactless check-in
Generate a QR code that attendees can scan to check in on their own devices.
- From the Dashboard, tap the Properties tile
- Search and tap the address
- Tap Check In & Add Feedback
- Tap menu (three dots) > Show QR Code
- Display the QR code for attendees to scan and enter their details
You can also print the QR code from the web version:
- Go to the listing > Other or Open Homes tab > Print QR Check-In
Process enquiries in the holding area
Review and finalise attendee check-ins submitted via QR code.
- Go to the Holding Area widget on the Dashboard or
- From the property > Website Enquiries & Holding Area
- Tap the attendee > Tap Check In / Add Feedback
- Review for duplicates and add any missing details
- Tap Save to process the enquiry
Set up automatic messages
Send SMS or email messages automatically when attendees are checked in.
- Open the property > Tap Check In & Add Feedback
- Tap the speech bubble icon > Set Automatic Message
- Choose SMS or Email from the drop-down menu
- Create or select a message template
- Send through VaultRE - Choose whether to send via MRI Vault (charges apply) or your mobile device
Once enabled, the selected message becomes the default for all inspections on that device. You can update or disable it anytime.
