About contact types
Contact types help you categorise and manage different kinds of contacts in MRI Vault. Standard types include Client/Person, Company, and Creditor/Supplier, but you can add more to suit your business needs.
Add a new contact type
To create a new contact type:
- Go to Settings > Contact Types
- Click Add New Contact Type (bottom right)
- Enter the name of the new contact type (e.g., Solicitor)
- Click Save
You can update or modify any existing contact type by clicking the Edit button on the right of the contact type. This ensures your contact categories remain accurate and relevant.

When adding a new contact, you can assign the appropriate contact type from your updated list.
