Categorising properties is a great way to report on projects via a filter within reports throughout Vault. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to assign a category to a property.

Step by step
1. Navigate into an example property
2. Click on the Other Tab > Property Categories (Projects)
3. This will then populate all property category groups and available property categories - You are then able to tick/untick each category you would like to apply. More information on how to add new property groups/categories can be found via the Setup Categories knowledge article
4. Once completed, click on Update Categories

Where can you apply and search via property categories within Vault?
1. Filter Properties (Properties > Filter Properties). Here you can produce a list of properties within a category to export, create reports and perform bulk actions. More information can be found via the Filter Properties knowledge article.
2. Find Property (Properties > Find Property). Here you are able to produce a list of properties that are within a certain category. More information can be found via the Find Property knowledge article.
3. Report Writer - Custom Reports (Reports > Report Writer). Here you can create a custom property report and apply a property category as a filter or included report field. More information can be found via the Report Writer knowledge article.
